Catch-up with H21 Phase 1
We’ve now completed Phase 1 of H21. You can catch up with the progress we’ve made and there is more information on our project page H21 Phase 1
Our rigorous Phase 1 testing programme has enabled us to develop a quantitative risk assessment for a hydrogen distribution gas network and given us the confidence that it is possible to operate a hydrogen gas network which is as safe, reliable and resilient as today’s natural gas network. It’s also given us an insight into the public’s perceptions of hydrogen through our social sciences research. Our work continues and we are now working on Phase 2 of H21 which is looking at the safety and practicalities of managing a hydrogen gas distribution network on a day to day basis. Once this work is complete we’ll publish our full findings in around a year.
